Can You Take the OIQ Exam Exam?
Check if you meet the basic eligibility requirements
- •Required of candidates to the engineering profession (CEP) and temporary restrictive permit (TRP) holders.
- •The exam is written in French, except in situations authorized by the OIQ.
- •Registration is required at least one month before the chosen exam date.

Retake Policy
A candidate who fails has one retake upon paying the prescribed fees; after failing the retake, the candidate must complete the theoretical training again before re-registering (r. 7.01, s. 12). A review of the marking can be requested within 30 days of being informed of the failure, with fees (s. 10).

Part 1 of the OIQ study document: how the Quebec professional system works (Code des professions, Office des professions, the OIQ) and the duty to keep competencies up to date (mandatory continuing education).
Part 2: ethics and decision-making, the Code de déontologie des ingénieurs, integrity, independence and disinterestedness, the reserved title of engineer, and the values and duties of professionalism.
Part 3: the legal framework of engineering, the Engineers Act and reserved activities, professional inspection, the disciplinary process, and measures against illegal practice.
