Can You Take the WA Plumber Exam?
Check if you meet the basic eligibility requirements
- •Submit the L&I plumber exam application with the $202.10 non-refundable fee
- •Schedule with PSI and pay the $84 three-portion exam fee
- •Closed-book exam: Tables 702.1, 610.3, 610.4, and 610.10 are provided; Table 703.2 is not
- •Pay the $242.70 journey level certificate fee within 90 days of passing

Retake Policy
After a failed attempt, submit a new L&I application with the $202.10 fee and wait 14 days from the last failed test. PSI charges $84 for the three-portion exam and $52 per individual portion on a retest. Candidates must pass all three portions; L&I decides whether any passed portion is waived. Unlimited attempts are allowed during the one-year eligibility period.
