Follow this path to organize your licensing and exam preparation
Phase 1: Science and Math Fundamentals (Part 1)You are here
Review differential calculus, trigonometry, statics, kinematics, thermodynamics, electricity, and general chemistry to the level of a sophomore engineering student.
Phase 2: Applied Science and Engineering (Part 2)
Master strength of materials (beams, torsion, stress-strain), heat transfer (conduction, convection, radiation), fluid mechanics, and AC/DC circuits.
Phase 3: Welding Theory and Disciplines (Part 3)
Study welding metallurgy (iron-carbon, TTT, WRC-1992), processes and arc physics, weld design, NDE, brazing, and safety. Use the Welding Handbook Volumes 1-5.
Phase 4: Practical Applications and Codes (Part 4)
Drill ASME Section IX, AWS D1.1, API 1104, WPS/PQR essential variables, filler metal specs (A5 series), fabrication, and inspection. Run timed open-book mocks.
Can You Take the CWEng Exam?
Check if you meet the basic eligibility requirements
