1

Master Closed-Book Calculations and Interval LogicYou are here

Start with corrosion rate, remaining life, thickness evaluation, rating logic, and interval-setting math because those are high-value closed-book skills.

30
hours
2

Build Damage-Mechanism Recognition

Study API RP 571 patterns such as CUI, sulfidation, erosion-corrosion, fatigue, chloride SCC, brittle-fracture risk, and deadleg or injection-point attack.

25
hours
3

Map the Open-Book References

Practice finding rules in API 570, API RP 574, API RP 576, API RP 577, API RP 578, ASME B31.3, Section V, Section IX, and PCC-2 before test day.

hours
4

Drill Welding, NDE, and Repair Judgment

Focus on WPS/PQR/WPQ distinctions, inspector-level NDE method selection, temporary versus engineered repairs, and rerating or documentation decisions.

25
hours
5

Finish with Mixed Timed Sets

Use the final phase to switch quickly between calculations, component inspection, PRD logic, material verification, and code-based field judgment.
