Code scope, base-metal applicability, definitions of statically vs cyclically loaded structures, and connection types.
Allowable stresses, effective throat, fillet and groove weld sizing, and fatigue stress categories.
Prequalified processes (SMAW/SAW/GMAW non-short-circuit/FCAW), base metals, filler metals, joint details, and preheat from Table 5.8.
PQR test plates, mechanical-test acceptance criteria, welder/operator/tack welder performance qualification, and essential variables.
Workmanship, distortion control, electrode storage and exposure, fit-up tolerances, repair, and arc strikes.
Inspector roles, Table 8.1 visual acceptance, RT and UT acceptance (Tables 8.2 and 8.3), MT/PT, and records retention.
