Examination Details

Arkansas uses NIC (National Interstate Council) examinations for both written theory and practical skills testing.

Apprenticeship Option

Arkansas offers an apprenticeship pathway requiring 3,000 hours of supervised training, which is double the school-based requirement.

Reciprocity

Arkansas grants reciprocity if:

  • You hold a current license in another state
  • That state's training hours equal or exceed Arkansas requirements
