Can You Take the FAA AMT General Exam?

Education
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English and meet the experience or Part 147 schooling requirement
Additional Requirements
  • Documented practical experience or graduation from an FAA-certificated Part 147 aviation maintenance technician school
  • The General written must be passed in addition to the Airframe and/or Powerplant written tests
  • Knowledge test results are valid for a limited period before the oral and practical tests must be completed
  • Tests are administered by PSI at FAA-approved knowledge testing centers
