Mathematics Core & Calculus

Can You Take the ECAT Exam?
Check if you meet the basic eligibility requirements
- •A minimum merit aggregate of 50% is required for UET undergraduate admission.
- •Foreign qualifications, including A-Levels, need an IBCC equivalence certificate; Pre-Medical candidates with additional Mathematics are assessed using first-year biology marks.
- •Bring the admit card and an accepted photo ID: CNIC/NICOP, NADRA juvenile card, Matric/Intermediate certificate with photograph, computerised domicile with photograph, passport, or A-Level Statement of Entry.

Retake Policy
Under PEC instructions UET allows multiple ECAT attempts in an admission cycle (ECAT 2026 First and Second were held in March–April and June 2026), and the best score counts for that session's merit. A candidate who misses the allotted centre and time slot cannot retake that sitting.

Based on the official University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore content outline
FSc Part I & II number systems, sets, logic and groups, matrices, quadratic equations, sequences and series, permutations, combinations and probability, trigonometry, functions and limits, differential and integral calculus, analytic geometry, linear programming, conic sections, and vectors.
FSc Part I & II measurements, vectors, mechanics, work and energy, circular motion and gravitation, fluids, oscillations and waves, optics and optical instruments, thermodynamics, electrostatics, current electricity, electromagnetism, alternating current, physics of solids, electronics, and modern and nuclear physics.
Pre-Engineering candidates take Chemistry (atomic structure, bonding, states of matter, equilibrium, thermochemistry, electrochemistry, inorganic periodic trends, and organic reaction mechanisms); ICS students choose Computer Science or Statistics.
Ten comprehension-type questions based on a given paragraph (UET admission FAQ); vocabulary and grammar matter as reading skills.
