Atomic structure, conductors/semiconductors/insulators, electrostatic laws and Coulomb's law, electrical terminology (EMF, PD, conventional vs electron flow), and methods of generating electricity (heat, light, pressure, friction, chemical, magnetism)
Primary and secondary cells, lead-acid and nickel-cadmium batteries, electrolytes and specific gravity, cells in series and parallel, internal resistance and terminal voltage, thermocouples and photocells
Ohm's law calculations, Kirchhoff's current and voltage laws, series and parallel circuits, the voltage divider, and combined network analysis
Resistor colour code and tolerances, resistivity and temperature coefficient, thermistors and potentiometers, the Wheatstone bridge, and power/energy calculations (P = VI, I-squared-R, V-squared/R)
