Frequently Asked Questions

Is the MT RE Salesperson vocabulary game free?

Yes. The game is free to play with no sign-up. Signing in adds AI explanations for any term.

How do the MT RE Salesperson vocabulary games work?

There are 4 games built on 20 MT RE Salesperson terms. In Guess the Term, a clue describes one term and you have six tries to spell it, with green, yellow and gray letters showing how close you are. In Term Match, six terms appear as colored tiles; swap neighbors to line up three or more of the same term, and each match shows what the term means. In Term Pairs, twelve face-down cards hide six pairs of terms; flip two at a time to find each pair, and every pair you find shows what the term means. In Term Search, five terms hide in a grid of letters, reading across, down or diagonally; drag across a term to circle it, and each term you find shows what it means.

Where do the MT RE Salesperson terms come from?

OpenExamPrep researched each term from the Montana Board of Realty Regulation (BRR) / Pearson VUE content outline and primary sources, listed under Sources on this page. The game is independent study material, not an official exam resource.

How many questions are on the Montana real estate salesperson exam?

The Montana salesperson exam has 120 scored questions: 80 on the national portion (150 minutes) and 40 on the Montana state portion (90 minutes). Unidentified, non-scored pretest questions are added (5 on the national portion and up to 10 on the state portion). Pearson VUE administers the exam, and you must earn a scaled score of 75 or higher on BOTH portions independently to pass.

What are the pre-license education requirements for a Montana real estate license?

Montana requires 70 hours of BRR-approved pre-license education completed within the 24 months prior to your license application. The Board's November 2025 checklist requires the salesperson exam to have been passed within the past 12 months when you apply (ARM 24.210.611(3)), although Pearson VUE's January 2026 handbook says results are good for three years. You must be affiliated with a responsible (supervising) broker to activate your license — salespersons cannot practice independently. Montana also requires at least 2 years of accredited high school study or equivalent.
