RDCS ARDMS Certifications License: Complete Roadmap
Follow this path to maximize your chances of passing on the first try
PathologyYou are here
Master valve pathologies (stenosis/regurgitation), ischemic disease with wall motion abnormalities, cardiomyopathies (dilated, hypertrophic, restrictive), pericardial disease, and cardiac masses. This is the largest portion of the exam.
Measurement Techniques, Maneuvers, and Sonographic Views
Learn LV measurement techniques, ejection fraction calculations (Simpson's method, Teichholz), diastolic function assessment (E/A ratio, deceleration time, tissue Doppler), and hemodynamic calculations (pressure gradients, valve areas, Qp/Qs ratios).
Anatomy and Physiology
Review cardiac chamber anatomy, valve structure and function, coronary artery territories, great vessel anatomy, cardiac cycle phases, and normal Doppler flow patterns.
Clinical Care and Safety
Study patient preparation protocols, positioning techniques, universal precautions, emergency recognition and response, and quality assurance procedures.
Instrumentation, Optimization, and Contrast
Review transducer selection, image optimization controls, Doppler settings (color, pulsed, continuous wave), artifact recognition, contrast agent use, and standard scanning protocols.

Quality Exam Prep Shouldn't Cost Hundreds
I'm Ran Chen, an engineer with 20+ years of coding experience. I passed my Life Insurance license, EA exam, SIE, Series 6, 63, 65, and finally the CFP® exam.
Through all these exams, one thing became clear: exam prep is expensive. But with AI, we can change that. Quality preparation can now be free for everyone.
