RVT ARDMS Certifications License: Complete Roadmap
Follow this path to maximize your chances of passing on the first try
Normal Anatomy & HemodynamicsYou are here
Master cerebrovascular, peripheral arterial, venous, and abdominal vascular anatomy. Understand normal Doppler waveforms and hemodynamic principles including the continuity equation and Bernoulli principle.
Pathology & Disease Recognition
Study carotid stenosis grading criteria, DVT diagnosis, venous reflux testing, peripheral arterial disease, AAA, renal artery stenosis, and mesenteric ischemia. Know velocity criteria for grading stenosis.
Physiologic Testing & Non-Imaging
Learn segmental pressure measurement, ABI calculation, PVR interpretation, PPG testing, and exercise stress testing protocols. Understand when to use physiologic testing vs duplex imaging.
Post-Surgical Evaluation
Study bypass graft surveillance, dialysis access evaluation (AVF/AVG), stent assessment, endovascular repair surveillance (EVAR/TEVAR), and complications of vascular interventions.
Ultrasound Physics & Instrumentation
Master Doppler physics, color/spectral Doppler optimization, artifacts recognition, quality assurance testing, and bioeffects/safety. Understand the Nyquist limit, aliasing, and proper Doppler angle.
