Study carotid stenosis grading criteria, DVT diagnosis, venous reflux testing, peripheral arterial disease, AAA, renal artery stenosis, and mesenteric ischemia. Know velocity criteria for grading stenosis.

Can You Take the RVT (Vascular Technology) Exam?

Education
Graduate of diagnostic medical sonography/vascular technology program (CAAHEP/ABHES accredited) or equivalent clinical experience
Additional Requirements
  • Must pass SPI (Sonography Principles & Instrumentation) exam within 5 years of VT exam
  • Submit application and fee to ARDMS ($300 for VT exam)
  • Complete eligible pathway: student, graduate, or clinical experience route
  • Clinical experience must include comprehensive vascular ultrasound (cerebrovascular, peripheral, abdominal)
  • Schedule exam through Pearson VUE within approved timeframe
