There is no fixed published passing score. UP says the UP Admission Grade (UPG) combines standardized UPCAT scores with the composite of an applicant's final grades in Grades 8 to 11, and admission depends on the campus/program cutoff. The current public General Information Bulletin does not publish a 60/40 formula or a universal cutoff.

No application fee for Filipino applicants; the UPCAT is free for Filipino citizens. Non-Filipino (foreign) applicants pay an application fee set by the UP Office of Admissions. UP also offers free tuition for qualifiers under the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act (RA 10931).

Study time: Several months of focused review covering the full senior high school curriculum in math, science, English, and Filipino; many applicants prepare over the summer before the August test.
