Structure and function means body parts have jobs. A duck's webbed feet help swimming; a hawk's hooked beak helps tearing meat; roots take in water; a stem holds the plant up and moves water; leaves are where plants capture light. Teach form fits job with real specimens, photos, and "what would happen if this part were different?" Do not require organelle names, photosynthesis equations, or circulatory-system diagrams in PreK–2.
