16.3 Acrylic Maintenance, Fills, and Removal
Domain 7 is not only a new set. It is maintenance and removal. WAC 308-20-080(4)(b) already named removal beside application. The NIC practical then isolates removal of the sculptured nail as its own timed section: 20 minutes to remove the sculptured nail and to smooth and finish the natural nail. Washington still wants acetone — not methylene chloride — as the usual lawful soak (WAC 308-20-110(15) bans methylene chloride products). Do not file the entire enhancement off into the natural plate. Bulk reduction of product before a soak is normal. Filing until you see bed shine or until the plate is thin and heat-reactive is injury. The natural nail is not a dust pad.
