About the PTCB Supply Chain Exam
PTCB Assessment-Based Certificate (ABC) for pharmacy technicians performing supply chain and inventory management functions. The exam covers FDA, DEA, and State Board requirements and the Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA); inventory management, documentation, controlled substance records, drug shortages, and contract types such as GPO and 340B; and the purpose and limits of supply chain entities, from manufacturers and wholesalers to 3PLs and 503B outsourcing facilities. This is a Certificate (not a certification) — it does not award a post-nominal acronym and does not require renewal.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the PTCB Supply Chain vocabulary game free?
Yes. The game is free to play with no sign-up. Signing in adds AI explanations for any term.
How do the PTCB Supply Chain vocabulary games work?
There are 4 games built on 20 PTCB Supply Chain terms. In Guess the Term, a clue describes one term and you have six tries to spell it, with green, yellow and gray letters showing how close you are. In Term Match, six terms appear as colored tiles; swap neighbors to line up three or more of the same term, and each match shows what the term means. In Term Pairs, twelve face-down cards hide six pairs of terms; flip two at a time to find each pair, and every pair you find shows what the term means. In Term Search, five terms hide in a grid of letters, reading across, down or diagonally; drag across a term to circle it, and each term you find shows what it means.
Where do the PTCB Supply Chain terms come from?
OpenExamPrep researched each term from the PTCB content outline and primary sources, listed under Sources on this page. The game is independent study material, not an official exam resource.
Is the PTCB Supply Chain Certificate a certification?
No. PTCB classifies this as an Assessment-Based Certificate (ABC), not a certification. It does not award a post-nominal acronym after your name and does not expire. ABCs validate working knowledge in a focused practice area and count toward the Advanced CPhT (CPhT-Adv) credential, which requires four ABCs, or three ABCs plus the CSPT certification, and 3 years of work experience.
What are the eligibility requirements?
You need an active PTCB CPhT credential plus completion of a PTCB-Recognized Supply Chain and Inventory Management Education/Training Program. The PTCB-Recognized program is required — you cannot bypass it with experience alone. After completing the program, you can register for the exam and schedule with Pearson VUE (online-proctored or test center).
