After three unsuccessful attempts, the candidate must document review of deficiencies with a Board-approved provider, complete an examination-preparation course, or complete a Board-approved 15-hour continuing-education course if not previously taken. After six unsuccessful attempts, the full applicable initial education must be repeated. A current 15-hour code-update course is also required when the item bank changes to a later code, regulation, or law.
