Can You Take the ITIL Foundation V5 Exam?
Check if you meet the basic eligibility requirements
- •The exam is closed book.
- •The official exam has 40 questions and a 60-minute time limit.
- •Candidates taking the exam in a non-native or non-working language may be awarded 25% extra time, that is 75 minutes in total (PeopleCert syllabus v5.0).
- •Renewal is every 3 years under current PeopleCert certification rules.
- •ITIL 4 exams are planned to sunset on December 31, 2027; the ITIL Foundation Bridge (Version 5) retires the same day (PeopleCert ITIL FAQ).

Retake Policy
No free retake is included by default. Take2 (one online-proctored resit, activated only on a fail, completed within six months of the original exam date) must be purchased BEFORE the initial exam (via an accredited training organization, at checkout, from the cart, or from the PeopleCert profile up to 15 minutes before the session) and cannot be added after a fail; PeopleCert Plus members receive it. Otherwise a new exam purchase is required.
