Phase 1 — Industry Structure and GeographyYou are here
Master the IATA Traffic Conference areas (TC1/TC2/TC3) and place all major cities and airports correctly. Learn IATA two-letter airline codes and three-letter airport codes for the world's busiest hubs. Practice GMT/UTC time zone and flight duration calculations including International Date Line crossings.
Phase 2 — Travel Formalities and GDS/PNR
Learn passport validity rules (6-month rule), visa types (tourist/transit/business), TIM/TIMATIC, APIS, Schengen Area, and health requirements. Then master GDS basics: PNR elements, flight segments, booking classes (Y/C/F/Q), SSR codes, and minimum connection times.
Phase 3 — Fares and Ticketing Basics
Understand journey types (OW, RT, Circle Trip, Open Jaw, surface sector) and the 24-hour stopover rule. Learn the NUC and ROE system (NUC × ROE = local currency), MPM vs TPM mileage system, fare basis codes, booking classes, e-tickets and EMD/MCO, SITI/SOTO, and BSP financial settlement.
Phase 4 — Ground Products, Accommodation, and Customer Service
