Exam Content Breakdown

Based on the official France Éducation international (FEI) / Ministère de l'Éducation nationale content outline

Compréhension de l'oral25%

Three listening exercises: a conversation about everyday-life situations, then two radio programmes (one on a work-related topic, one on a general current topic). Questions are three-option multiple choice (A/B/C) on current-format papers. Every recording is played twice.

Compréhension des écrits25%

Two or three reading exercises depending on the paper format: an information-matching task on short authentic notices (ticked criterion by criterion), plus one or two general-interest articles. Current-format papers use closed-response items only — multiple choice, true/false and matching grids — with no quoted justifications.

Production écrite25%

One writing task of at least 160 words: a letter, email, article or forum contribution giving a personal point of view on a general topic. Marked on an official grid: respect de la consigne (2), capacité à présenter des faits (4), capacité à exprimer sa pensée (4), cohérence et cohésion (3), compétence lexicale (6), compétence grammaticale (6).

Production orale25%

Three parts in order: entretien dirigé (2–3 min), exercice en interaction (3–4 min), then expression d'un point de vue from a short trigger document (5–7 min). Only the third part has preparation time: 10 minutes. 12 of the 25 points cover the three parts together (lexis 4, morphosyntax 5, phonology 3); the parts themselves are marked 3, 5 and 5.
