Two years of full-time or part-time-equivalent experience as a parts counterperson or managing a wholesale/retail parts store or in-house parts department; automotive repair work is not the P-series experience category.
Additional Requirements
  • Repair-technician formal-education substitutes do not apply to the Parts Specialist work-experience category
  • Initial P2 testing is delivered by computer at Prometric test centers; P2R recertification is eligible for ASE remote online testing
  • Previously certified candidates may take P2R recertification even after a credential has lapsed
  • ASE charges a $34 registration fee per order plus a $62 general-test fee; a single P2 order is $96 before applicable sales tax
