Follow this path to organize your exam preparation
Phase 1: Sayısal Yetenek (IQ, Matrices & Spatial Reasoning)You are here
Practise numerical relations, digit-symbol coding, graph connectivity and figural patterns; use original spatial and grid exercises to diagnose reasoning errors. Numerical Ability has 40 questions and a 0.45 standard-score weight.
Phase 2: Temel Matematik I (Arithmetic, Algebra & Word Problems)
Master positional base arithmetic, divisibility, GCD/LCM, nested fractions, exponents, radicals, factoring identities, linear systems, absolute value, and classic ratio/rate word problems.
Phase 3: Functions, Polynomials and Optional Extensions
Study sets, operations, function domains and composition, polynomial division, quadratics, sequences and counting. Use logarithms, complex numbers and calculus as optional enrichment; their appearance is not guaranteed by ÖSYM’s guide.
Phase 4: Geometri & Full-Length 100-Minute Pacing Drills
Review triangle rules, polygons, circles, solids and coordinate geometry, then use timed 100-minute mixed practice and separate raw-score calculations for the two tests. No official fixed geometry item quota is published.
Can You Take the TR-YÖS Exam?
Check if you meet the basic eligibility requirements
- •Foreign nationals: no secondary study/graduation in Türkiye, except the named complete embassy/MOBİS-school and MEB/YÖK-project categories.
- •Turkish citizens by birth who renounced citizenship with permission, including documented Blue Card holders: no secondary study/graduation in Türkiye or the TRNC; the newer Turkish guide includes a limited 2026–2027 provision for Blue Card holders registered in preparatory classes as of 2021–2022.
- •Former foreign nationals who later acquired Turkish citizenship, including such dual nationals: no secondary study/graduation in Türkiye or the TRNC.
- •Turkish citizens: the entirety of secondary education in a foreign country other than the TRNC, including qualifying MEB schools abroad.
- •TRNC citizens: no study/graduation in high schools in Türkiye or Turkish-curriculum high schools in the TRNC, with GCE AL, TR-YÖS or institutional criteria under YÖK-approved admission directives. Check the current Turkish guide and target institution.
