Nevada CNA License: Complete Roadmap
Follow this path to organize your licensing and exam preparation
Complete NSBN-Approved CNA Training
Enroll in and complete a Nevada State Board of Nursing-approved CNA training program (100 hours: 50 classroom + 50 clinical). Programs offered through community colleges, healthcare facilities, and private schools statewide.
Personal Care & Basic Nursing SkillsYou are here
Master personal care skills (23%) and basic nursing skills (27%) — together 50% of the NNAAP exam. Focus on bathing sequences, vital signs, transfers, positioning, and infection control.
Psychosocial Care & Role of Nurse Aide
Study emotional/mental health care, dementia care, therapeutic communication, resident rights, and Nevada-specific regulations (NRS Chapter 632). These areas represent 39% of the exam.
Clinical Skills Practice
Practice all 22 clinical skills from the NNAAP skills list. Know every step — handwashing is always included. Simulate the 25-minute skills test. Missing critical steps results in automatic failure for that skill.
