Can You Take the MI Roofing Contractor Exam?
Check if you meet the basic eligibility requirements
- •Be at least 18 years old
- •Complete 60 hours of LARA-approved prelicensure education
- •Submit form BCC-2000 with a state-issued photo ID, the course certificate, and the $195 application fee (waived for veterans)
- •Schedule and pay PSI for the Roofing (M) and Business & Law combination exam after LARA approves the application
- •Finish all licensure requirements, including passing the exam, within 1 year after LARA receives the application

From start to license in hand
Retake Policy
A failed candidate retakes the full combination exam (Business & Law plus roofing), because PSI no longer tests the parts separately. The retest fee is $70. Failing candidates receive section scores to guide study. All requirements must still be met within 1 year after LARA receives the application.
