Additional Requirements
  • Must pass both the Written/Oral Examination (60 questions, 90 min) AND the Clinical Skills Evaluation (5 randomly selected skills including hand washing)
  • Maximum 3 attempts within 1 year of completing training; must retake full training program after exhausting attempts or exceeding 1-year window
  • Georgia Nurse Aide Registry managed by Alliant Health Solutions under Georgia DCH authority
  • Registry renewal every 24 months: must demonstrate at least 8 paid hours of nurse aide work under a licensed nurse (RN or LPN) supervision
  • No grace period after registry expiration — working with an expired listing is illegal
  • Nursing homes are required by federal law and Georgia regulations to pay all exam fees for their nurse aide employees
  • Reciprocity available for CNAs with active unencumbered listing in another state — apply through Alliant Health Solutions
  • Substantiated findings of abuse, neglect, or misappropriation are permanently noted on the Georgia registry and shared with other states
  • In-service training: nursing homes must provide at least 12 hours of annual in-service training per OBRA requirements
