About the Notario Chihuahua Exam
Independent practice for Chihuahua's notary exams by OpenExamPrep. Under the Ley del Notariado del Estado de Chihuahua, law graduates with a year of notarial practice take the aspirante exam, and aspirantes then compete for vacant or new notarías in the notary exam, preferably by oposición. Both exams combine a five-hour drafting exercise with a public oral exam before a five-member jury, graded 0–100 (70 to pass as aspirante, 80 as notary). This bank is an English-language MCQ study adaptation, not an official translation or format simulation. It is built on the state statute and on federal company, tax and foreign-investment rules, keeps the Spanish legal terms, and does not simulate the drafting exercise or the oral exam. Its topic split is our own study allocation, because no official weights are published.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I become an aspirante a notario in Chihuahua?
Meet the Article 13 requirements, including one uninterrupted year of practice in Chihuahua notarías begun at least two years after registering your law degree, and apply to the Dirección, which sets the exam within 30 days. You draft one instrument drawn from a 20-instrument temario in five hours, then face a public oral exam; you need a final grade of 70 out of 100.
How is a notaría awarded?
When a notaría is created or falls vacant, the Dirección calls aspirantes (and interested notaries); for vacancies the call is published three times, every seven days, and candidates have 60 days to apply. The exam follows the same format, but the minimum is 80 out of 100 and the best qualifying candidate wins. The Executive issues the patente within 30 business days, and the notary must start within 45 business days of its publication.
What happens after a poor result?
A candidate who scores 60 or less, abandons the exam, fails the aspirante exam or misses it without justification cannot take another exam until one year after the date set for the previous one (Articles 16 and 27).
Is the exam available in English, and what does this bank cover?
No. The exams are held in Spanish. This bank is an independent English-language MCQ study adaptation that keeps the Spanish legal terms. It reviews the rules behind the drafting exercise and the jury's questions, but it is not an official translation and does not simulate them.
