Is the Connecticut CNA vocabulary game free?

Yes. The game is free to play with no sign-up. Signing in adds AI explanations for any term.

How does the Connecticut CNA vocabulary game work?

Each round shows a clue for one of 20 Connecticut CNA terms. Guess the term in six tries: green means the right letter in the right spot, yellow means the letter is in the term but in another spot, and gray means it is not in the term. After the round, read the explanation and play the next term.

Where do the Connecticut CNA terms come from?

OpenExamPrep researched each term from the Prometric / Connecticut DPH content outline and primary sources, listed under Sources on this page. The game is independent study material, not an official exam resource.

Who administers the Connecticut CNA exam?

Prometric administers the Connecticut Nurse Aide Competency Exam on behalf of the Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH). The combined fee is $125 for the written (or oral) and skills tests, effective August 1, 2026. The written exam has 60 questions in 90 minutes; the clinical skills test scores five skills — three randomly assigned skills plus mandatory Handwashing and Indirect Care — and you must pass all five. After passing both parts, you are added to the Connecticut DPH Nursing Assistant Registry.

How many training hours does Connecticut require for CNA?

Connecticut requires a minimum of 100 hours of state-approved CNA training — 25 hours more than the federal OBRA 1987 minimum of 75 hours. Training must include both classroom/lab instruction and supervised clinical practice in a healthcare facility. Programs must be approved by the Connecticut DPH. This higher standard reflects Connecticut's commitment to nursing assistant competency.
