If a question says "mirror image" and an answer choice shows the figure flipped top-to-bottom, that is a water image — eliminate it.

Trap 1 — Symmetric Figures

A figure with a vertical symmetry axis looks identical to its mirror image. The letter O, the digit 8, a circle, a square oriented with edges vertical/horizontal, and the letter A all have vertical symmetry. If a figure is symmetric, the correct mirror image is the figure itself — do not invent a flip that is not there.

Trap 2 — Treating Mirror as Rotation
