Questions use documents, maps, charts, political cartoons, or other stimuli and assess Grade 11 framework content plus social studies practices.
Two short-essay sets ask students to analyze historical context, relationships between documents, and source reliability factors such as audience, purpose, bias, or point of view.
Six scaffold questions are based on documents connected to a constitutional or civic issue.
Students describe historical circumstances, explain efforts by individuals, groups, or governments to address the issue, and discuss success or impact.
Content spans colonial foundations, constitutional foundations, expansion and sectionalism, Reconstruction, industrialization, reform, U.S. power, world wars, the Cold War, domestic change, civil rights, and globalization.
