Economic versus aesthetic versus public-health thresholds

A threshold is the pest density or injury level that triggers action. The Core expects you to know that not every threshold is a dollar figure.

Economic threshold. Used in production agriculture (Category 1A, often 1B and 2). Least-risk tactics after the threshold

Once a threshold is met, choose the tactic that will work with the least risk to people, non-targets, and future effectiveness:

School IPM is New Jersey’s strongest IPM mandate
