Master neonatal/pediatric pharmacokinetics (CYP maturation, glucuronidation, renal clearance), weight/BSA-based dosing, and max-dose caps.
Phase 2: Pediatric Disease-State Pharmacotherapy
Work disease states: neonatology, ID, respiratory (asthma/CF), cardio, endocrine (T1DM), neuro, heme/onc, GI, renal, pain/sedation, vaccines.
Phase 3: Professional Practice + Timed Mocks
Drill medication safety, USP 795/797/800 compounding, EBM, and complete timed 150-item BCPPS simulations.
Can You Take the BCPPS Exam?
Check if you meet the basic eligibility requirements
- •All practice experience must be completed post-licensure
- •Practice-experience pathways require at least 50% of time in the scope of the exam content outline, within the 7 years before applying, verified by an employer attestation
- •Maximum of three attempts per BPS certification cycle (initial plus two retakes)
- •Recertification every 7 years by examination (plus 20 units of CPD for cycles beginning in 2024 or later) or by 100 units of continuing education from BPS-approved programs
