Exam Content Breakdown
Based on the official Electrical Safety Office Queensland (national MEM10025 Capstone) content outline
Scope and fundamental principles, nominal voltages, conductor identification, isolation and switching, special locations, and applying the Wiring Rules to installation design and compliance
Current-carrying capacity, reference temperatures, grouping and thermal derating factors, the mV/A.m voltage-drop method, and the order of cable-selection checks
Applying diversity and Appendix C/Table C1 demand factors to size consumer mains, the main switch and the supply for domestic and commercial installations
Overload and short-circuit protection, the Ib <= In <= Iz coordination rule, RCD types and 30 mA additional protection, discrimination, and the division-of-circuits principle
The Multiple Earthed Neutral system, the MEN link at the main switchboard, main earthing conductor sizing (Table 5.1), equipotential bonding, earth electrodes and the adiabatic equation
Prospective fault current and breaking capacity, earth fault loop impedance (Zs = Ze + R1 + R2), and the 0.4 s and 5 s maximum disconnection times
Point of supply, consumer-mains and submains definitions, sizing mains to the maximum demand, keeping neutral and earth separated downstream, and associated earthing
