1Which interaction is primarily responsible for most diagnostic x-ray attenuation in soft tissue at typical radiographic energies?
2What is the main purpose of added filtration in a diagnostic x-ray tube housing?
3Which generator component steps up voltage so electrons can be accelerated across the x-ray tube?
4Which radiation protection principle means keeping exposure as low as reasonably achievable while still obtaining diagnostic information?
5Which unit is commonly used to express absorbed radiation dose?
6Which action most directly reduces the volume of irradiated tissue during a radiographic exposure?
7If source-to-skin distance is doubled while all other exposure factors remain constant, what happens to beam intensity at the skin according to the inverse square law?
8A chest radiograph is repeated because the image was too light on a film-screen system. If kVp remains unchanged, which change is most likely to increase film density?
9Which x-ray tube problem is most directly reduced by using a rotating anode instead of a stationary anode?
10Why is the cathode side of the x-ray beam commonly placed over the thicker end of an anatomic part when practical?
About the PRC RadTech Exam
The Radiologic Technologists Licensure Examination is the PRC Board of Radiologic Technology examination for entry to registered radiologic technology practice in the Philippines. PRC's 2023 enhanced Table of Specifications organizes the examination into five 20% subjects covering radiologic physics, equipment, radiobiology, radiation protection, image production and evaluation, radiographic positioning and procedures, patient care and management, anatomy, pathology, ethics and jurisprudence, and radiological sciences such as ultrasound, CT, MRI, interventional radiology, pharmacology and venipuncture, nuclear medicine, and radiation therapy.
Assessment
Five equally weighted subjects: Radiologic Physics, Equipment, Biology, Protection; Image Production and Evaluation; Radiographic Positioning and Radiologic Procedures; Patient Care and Management; and Radiological Sciences. The 2023 enhanced TOS classifies items as 30% easy, 50% moderate, and 20% difficult within each subject.
