About the MTC Brevete A-IIIb Exam

Class A-IIIb covers N3 goods vehicles, which may tow one or more O-category trailers or semi-trailers, plus the vehicles of categories I, II-a and II-b. It is obtained by recategorisation after two years with A-IIb, or through the company training regime created by D.S. N° 003-2026-MTC in January 2026. The knowledge exam adds 20 questions on RNAT goods transport, RNV weights and dimensions, hazardous materials (MATPEL) and truck mechanics. Carrying hazardous materials also requires the separate special-category licence. The official exam is in Spanish.
