About the FAST Grade 7 Math Exam
The FAST Grade 7 Mathematics assessment is Florida's statewide progress-monitoring test aligned to the Benchmarks for Excellent Student Thinking (B.E.S.T.) Standards. It is a computer-adaptive test administered three times each year (PM1, PM2, and PM3), with the PM3 administration determining each student's official grade 7 achievement level. The test reports performance across four reporting categories: Number Sense and Operations and Algebraic Reasoning; Proportional Reasoning and Relationships; Geometric Reasoning; and Data Analysis and Probability. Each PM administration follows a blueprint of about 36-40 items that adjusts difficulty based on student responses. Results are reported on a 269-391 scale with five achievement levels, where Level 3 (330+) marks on-grade-level performance. The FAST replaced the Florida Standards Assessment (FSA) beginning in the 2022-2023 school year.
