1Two lines intersect. If one angle measures 112 degrees, what is the measure of the vertical angle opposite it?
A.112 degrees
B.68 degrees
C.56 degrees
D.180 degrees
Explanation: Vertical angles are congruent when two lines intersect. The angle opposite the 112-degree angle also measures 112 degrees.
2Parallel lines are cut by a transversal. If one alternate interior angle measures 68 degrees, what is the measure of its alternate interior angle?
A.68 degrees
B.112 degrees
C.34 degrees
D.22 degrees
Explanation: Alternate interior angles are congruent when a transversal crosses parallel lines. Therefore the matching alternate interior angle is also 68 degrees.
3A triangle has angle measures of 42 degrees and 73 degrees. What is the measure of the third angle?
A.65 degrees
B.115 degrees
C.75 degrees
D.55 degrees
Explanation: The interior angles of a triangle sum to 180 degrees. The third angle is 180 - 42 - 73 = 65 degrees.
4An exterior angle of a triangle measures 130 degrees. One remote interior angle measures 58 degrees. What is the measure of the other remote interior angle?
A.72 degrees
B.58 degrees
C.122 degrees
D.188 degrees
Explanation: An exterior angle of a triangle equals the sum of the two remote interior angles. The missing remote interior angle is 130 - 58 = 72 degrees.
5An isosceles triangle has a vertex angle of 52 degrees. What is the measure of each base angle?
A.64 degrees
B.52 degrees
C.76 degrees
D.128 degrees
Explanation: The two base angles of an isosceles triangle are congruent. They share 180 - 52 = 128 degrees, so each base angle measures 64 degrees.
6Which set of side lengths can form a triangle?
A.5, 7, 10
B.3, 4, 8
C.6, 6, 13
D.2, 9, 12
Explanation: For a triangle, the sum of any two side lengths must be greater than the third side. Only 5 + 7 > 10 and the other pair sums also exceed the remaining side.
7A midsegment of a triangle is parallel to a side that is 18 units long. What is the length of the midsegment?
A.9 units
B.18 units
C.27 units
D.36 units
Explanation: A triangle midsegment is parallel to the third side and has half its length. Half of 18 is 9.
8The centroid of a triangle lies on a median. If the distance from the centroid to the midpoint of the side is 4 units, how long is the entire median?
A.12 units
B.8 units
C.6 units
D.16 units
Explanation: The centroid divides each median in a 2:1 ratio, with the shorter part between the centroid and the midpoint. If the shorter part is 4, the whole median is 3 times 4, or 12 units.
9In a parallelogram, one angle measures 68 degrees. What is the measure of an adjacent angle?
A.112 degrees
B.68 degrees
C.102 degrees
D.22 degrees
Explanation: Consecutive angles in a parallelogram are supplementary. The adjacent angle measures 180 - 68 = 112 degrees.
10In parallelogram ABCD, diagonals AC and BD intersect at E. If AC = 26, what is AE?
A.13
B.26
C.52
D.6.5
Explanation: The diagonals of a parallelogram bisect each other. Since E is the midpoint of AC, AE = 26/2 = 13.

About the Florida Geometry EOC Exam

The Florida Geometry EOC is the statewide B.E.S.T. Geometry End-of-Course assessment for students completing Geometry or equivalent courses. The current FDOE blueprint organizes Geometry into three reporting categories: Logic, Relationships, and Theorems; Congruence, Similarity, and Constructions; and Measurement and Coordinate Geometry. The older FSA Geometry EOC was retired after fall 2022, and current Algebra 1 and Geometry EOCs are aligned to Florida's B.E.S.T. Standards.
