What is an STNA in Ohio?
STNA stands for State Tested Nurse Aide, the title Ohio long used for its nurse aides. Since October 24, 2024, Ohio Revised Code 3721.32(E) says an individual listed on the Nurse Aide Registry in good standing is referred to as a certified nurse aide (CNA), and the current Headmaster candidate handbook uses CNA. To be listed, you must complete an ODH-approved NATCEP training program (or an approved alternate pathway) and pass both the knowledge exam and the skill test through Headmaster.
