36 and 63. The 11 total parts are worth 9 each, so 4 × 9 = 36 and 7 × 9 = 63.
Solve the inequality 4x − 5 < 11.
x < 4. Add 5 to obtain 4x < 16, then divide by the positive number 4, so the inequality direction stays the same.
Convert the binary number 101101₂ to decimal.
45. Add the place values with a 1: 32 + 8 + 4 + 1.
Simplify 3(2x − 5) − 2(x + 1).
4x − 17. Distribute to get 6x − 15 − 2x − 2, then combine like terms.
If A = {1, 2, 3, 5} and B = {2, 4, 5}, what is A ∩ B?
{2, 5}. An intersection contains only elements present in both sets.
Multiply (6 × 10⁴)(3 × 10⁻²) in scientific notation.
1.8 × 10³. Multiply coefficients to get 18 and add exponents to get 10², then normalize 18 × 10².
Six identical pumps finish a job in 10 hours. How long would 15 pumps take at the same rate?
4 hours. The job requires 6 × 10 = 60 pump-hours; 60 ÷ 15 = 4.
What is the floor of −2.3?
−3. The floor is the greatest integer less than or equal to the given number.
An arithmetic sequence starts at 4 and has common difference 3. What is its 10th term?
31. Use a₁₀ = a₁ + 9d = 4 + 9(3).
What remainder results when 527 is divided by 9?
5. Since 9 × 58 = 522, the remainder is 527 − 522.
What is the area of a triangle with base 13 cm and perpendicular height 8 cm?
52 cm². Use A = 1/2 bh = 1/2(13)(8).
Find the volume of a cylinder with radius 3 m and height 8 m.
72π m³, approximately 226.2 m³. Use V = πr²h = π(3²)(8).
What is the sum of the interior angles of a hexagon?
720°. For an n-sided polygon, the sum is (n − 2)180°; with n = 6, that is 4 × 180°.
Two similar triangles have corresponding sides 4 cm and 10 cm. What corresponds to a 6 cm side in the smaller triangle?
15 cm. The scale factor is 10/4 = 2.5, so 6 × 2.5 = 15.
Which formula finds side c from sides a and b and their included angle C?
The cosine rule: c² = a² + b² − 2ab cos C.
What is the arc length of a 90° sector in a circle of radius 8 cm?
4π cm, about 12.57 cm. A 90° arc is one-fourth of the circumference 2π(8).
What is the slope through points (−1, 2) and (3, 10)?
2. Slope = (10 − 2)/(3 − (−1)) = 8/4.
Find the surface area of a 4 m × 3 m × 2 m rectangular prism.
52 m². Use 2(lw + lh + wh) = 2(12 + 8 + 6).
Convert 72 km/h to meters per second.
20 m/s. Divide km/h by 3.6, or multiply by 1,000/3,600.
Velocity increases from 5 m/s to 23 m/s in 6 s. What is the average acceleration?
3 m/s². Use a = Δv/Δt = (23 − 5)/6.
A person walks 8 m east and then 3 m west. What is the displacement?
5 m east. Displacement is the net change in position, so opposite directions subtract.
Masses of 2 kg and 3 kg lie at x = 0 m and x = 10 m. Where is their center of mass?
x = 6 m. Use x_center = [2(0) + 3(10)]/(2 + 3).
What buoyant force acts on an object displacing 0.002 m³ of water? Use ρ = 1,000 kg/m³ and g = 9.8 m/s².
19.6 N. Archimedes' principle gives F_b = ρVg = 1,000 × 0.002 × 9.8.
A spring has constant 200 N/m and is stretched 0.03 m. What restoring-force magnitude does Hooke's law give?
6 N. The magnitude is kx = 200 × 0.03; the actual restoring force points opposite the displacement.
A 600 N force acts over 0.03 m². What pressure is produced?
20,000 Pa. Pressure = force/area = 600/0.03.
A sample has mass 2.7 kg and volume 0.001 m³. What is its density?
2,700 kg/m³. Density = mass/volume = 2.7/0.001.
How much charge passes a point when a 0.5 A current flows for 40 s?
20 C. Use Q = It = 0.5 × 40.
What is the equivalent resistance of 4 Ω, 6 Ω, and 10 Ω in series?
20 Ω. Series resistances add directly.
What is the equivalent resistance of 6 Ω and 3 Ω in parallel?
2 Ω. Use 1/R = 1/6 + 1/3 = 1/2.
At a junction, currents of 2.0 A and 1.5 A enter while 0.8 A leaves. What other current must leave?
2.7 A. Kirchhoff's current law requires total current entering, 3.5 A, to equal total current leaving.
What is the magnitude of the electric potential-energy change when 6 C moves through 12 V?
72 J. Use ΔE = QV = 6 × 12.
A 2 m metal rod has α = 12 × 10⁻⁶ /°C. How much does it expand through a 50°C rise?
0.0012 m, or 1.2 mm. Use ΔL = αLΔT = (12 × 10⁻⁶)(2)(50).
How much energy melts 0.20 kg of ice at its melting point if L_f = 334 kJ/kg?
66.8 kJ. During the phase change, Q = mL_f = 0.20 × 334 kJ.
Convert 27°C to kelvin.

What distinguishes a homogeneous mixture from a heterogeneous mixture?
A homogeneous mixture has uniform composition throughout; a heterogeneous mixture has visibly or measurably distinct regions.
What phase change takes a substance directly from solid to gas?
Sublimation. Deposition is the reverse change from gas directly to solid.
What energy barrier does a catalyst lower?
Activation energy. A catalyst provides an alternative reaction pathway and is regenerated rather than consumed overall.
What is the empirical formula of C₆H₁₂O₆?
CH₂O. Divide all subscripts by their greatest common factor, 6.
How many significant figures are in 0.00450?
Three. Leading zeros are placeholders, while the trailing zero after the decimal is significant.
Which separation method uses different boiling points to separate liquid components?
Distillation. The more volatile component vaporizes preferentially and is then condensed and collected.
Does vaporization absorb or release energy?
It absorbs energy, so vaporization is endothermic. Energy is required to overcome intermolecular attractions in the liquid.
How does a Brønsted–Lowry acid differ from a Brønsted–Lowry base?
An acid donates a proton, while a base accepts a proton.
For isotope notation with mass number A and atomic number Z, how many neutrons are present?
A − Z. The mass number counts protons plus neutrons, while the atomic number counts protons.
What does one becquerel measure?
One nuclear decay per second. The becquerel is the SI unit of radioactive activity.
What does ionization do to a neutral atom or molecule?
It removes or adds electrons, producing a net electric charge. Ionization does not by itself change the nucleus.
What does a Geiger–Müller counter detect?
Ionizing-radiation events. It counts detections but does not by itself identify every radiation type or provide a complete absorbed-dose assessment.

What NAPT score does the current MyNavyHR Nuclear Ratings page publish?
The live MyNavyHR page publishes 55 as the minimum NAPT score under the NFb route. A 55 does not qualify an applicant by itself; the applicable ASVAB and combined-score requirements and all other Nuclear Field criteria must also be met.
What is the difference between the NFa and NFb routes?
The current page lists NFa when either specified ASVAB composite is greater than 252. NFb begins with either listed composite greater than 235 and adds a combined ASVAB-plus-NAPT requirement above 290 plus a minimum NAPT score of 55. The recruiter applies the current formula to the applicant's record.
How many questions are on the NAPT, and how long is it?
The current public Nuclear Ratings page does not publish the formal NAPT question count or time limit. The 50 flashcards and OpenExamPrep's 100-question practice bank are local study inventories, not evidence of the real test's length.
What is the official NAPT content blueprint?
The Navy does not publish a current public NAPT blueprint, domain list, or domain weights. Mathematics, physics, chemistry, and nuclear-science review in this set is an editorial transferable-skills framework, not a claim about protected exam content.
How are these 50 NAPT flashcards distributed?

Does the Navy publish a NAPT fee, pass rate, or retake schedule?
Not on the current public Nuclear Ratings page. No standalone fee, candidate pass-rate table, or fixed retest interval is published there. Applicants should confirm current administration and retest policy with their recruiter.
What education requirements are publicly stated for Nuclear Field candidates?
The current MyNavyHR page says candidates must be high school diploma graduates and must have passed at least one year of algebra. It also says candidates must satisfy the other criteria in the current Navy Recruiting Manual.
Are these official or recalled NAPT questions?
No. They are original, introductory STEM prompts intended to build transferable reasoning. Navy policy safeguards enlisted classification test materials, so legitimate preparation must not use leaked, recalled, or protected test items.
