Can You Take the WA Master Esthetician Exam?
Check if you meet the basic eligibility requirements
- •Be at least 17 years old (RCW 18.16.100)
- •Pass both the NIC written (theory) and practical exams administered by Prov with a scaled score of 75 (WAC 308-20-120)
- •Apply to the Washington Department of Licensing and pay the $35 license application fee (WAC 308-20-210)
- •Use FDA prescription devices only under the authority of a licensed physician, following WAC 246-919-605 delegation rules

The Combined Practice theory exam weights this domain at 55% and adds anatomy, skin histology, disorders, hair, and electricity.
Protocol development, chemical and physical exfoliation, extractions, lymphatic drainage, laser, IPL, and radiofrequency devices, hair removal, body treatments, LED, microcurrent, aromatherapy, dermaplaning, microneedling, ultrasound, and PRP/PRF. The Combined Practice exam's Skin Care and Services domain (45%) also covers facials, galvanic and high frequency, and makeup.
