Phase 2: Rules and Workfiles
Apply all five Rules, with particular attention to nondiscrimination, competency, scope decisions, and the complete workfile-retention rule.
Phase 3: Standards and Reporting
Distinguish development from reporting across Standards 1-10 and practice choosing requirements for the assignment type.
Phase 4: Guidance and Assessment Format
Use the 2026 GRM and separately issued AO-41, then practice in the format specified by your course provider or state exam vendor.
Can You Take the USPAP Exam?
Check if you meet the basic eligibility requirements
- •Confirm course, delivery-format, instructor, and exam approval with the state regulator before enrolling
- •Register for the AQB National Exam through the testing provider contracted by the state regulator
- •Verify testing location, remote-testing availability, fees, passing requirements, and retake rules with the applicable provider or state
- •Practicing real-property appraisers complete the 7-Hour USPAP Update Course or equivalent once every two calendar years
