Do not turn the third route into a rule requiring four years as a superintendent. The rule uses a four-year total plus nested two-year and one-year conditions. Likewise, the bachelor's path requires one year of proven experience; the degree does not eliminate experience entirely.
The applicant swears to the qualifications and supplies the proof directed by the application. The Division may conduct a background check. The application also identifies affiliated people and entities and includes insurance, tax, and identifying information required for the chosen application type.
Approval and examination attempts
The Division evaluates the application before the candidate tests. The PSI approval letter is valid for one year, during which both required examinations must be passed. Under Rule 553-4, an otherwise qualified applicant may be reexamined during that period after paying the reexamination fee. A person requesting a third or subsequent examination must wait at least one calendar year after the last examination and submit an application with the appropriate fees.
