About the EGE Russian Exam
The EGE (Единый государственный экзамен) in Russian Language is the mandatory state examination that every Russian school graduate must pass to earn the school-leaving certificate (аттестат) and to apply to universities. The 2026 exam consists of 27 tasks: 26 short-answer tasks in Part 1 covering orthography, punctuation, stress, vocabulary, grammatical norms, morphology, syntax and expressive devices, plus one extended argumentative essay (сочинение, task 27).
