Frequently Asked Questions
Is the WI Plumber vocabulary game free?
Yes. The game is free to play with no sign-up. Signing in adds AI explanations for any term.
How does the WI Plumber vocabulary game work?
Each round shows a clue for one of 20 WI Plumber terms. Guess the term in six tries: green means the right letter in the right spot, yellow means the letter is in the term but in another spot, and gray means it is not in the term. After the round, read the explanation and play the next term.
Where do the WI Plumber terms come from?
OpenExamPrep researched each term from the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS) content outline and primary sources, listed under Sources on this page. The game is independent study material, not an official exam resource.
How hard is the Wisconsin journeyman plumber exam?
DSPS does not publish a pass rate or an item count. The exam is two open-book parts of 3 hours each, delivered at Pearson VUE, and requires 70% to pass. Wisconsin's independent plumbing code (SPS 381-387) means study materials for the IPC or UPC alone are insufficient.
What plumbing code does Wisconsin use?
Wisconsin uses its own independent State Plumbing Code (SPS 381-387, formerly Comm 81-87). This is NOT the IPC or UPC. Wisconsin is one of the few states that maintains an independent plumbing code with unique provisions for frost protection, POWTS, and cross-connection control.
