Frequently Asked Questions
Is the NV General Contractor vocabulary game free?
Yes. The game is free to play with no sign-up. Signing in adds AI explanations for any term.
How do the NV General Contractor vocabulary games work?
There are 4 games built on 20 NV General Contractor terms. In Guess the Term, a clue describes one term and you have six tries to spell it, with green, yellow and gray letters showing how close you are. In Term Match, six terms appear as colored tiles; swap neighbors to line up three or more of the same term, and each match shows what the term means. In Term Pairs, twelve face-down cards hide six pairs of terms; flip two at a time to find each pair, and every pair you find shows what the term means. In Term Search, five terms hide in a grid of letters, reading across, down or diagonally; drag across a term to circle it, and each term you find shows what it means.
Where do the NV General Contractor terms come from?
OpenExamPrep researched each term from the Nevada State Contractors Board (NSCB) content outline and primary sources, listed under Sources on this page. The game is independent study material, not an official exam resource.
What examinations are required for a Nevada General Contractor license?
A Class B General Building license requires two PSI exams. The Contractor Management Survey (CMS) is the business and law exam: 60 scored items plus 3 non-scored items, 120 minutes, and 45 correct (75%) to pass. The Class B General Building trade exam has 80 questions, a 3-hour limit, and 56 correct (70%) to pass. Both are open book. The Board may waive the trade exam, for example for a passing NASCLA accredited commercial building exam, but the CMS is still required.
Does Nevada accept the NASCLA Commercial General Building exam?
Yes. The Nevada State Contractors Board accepts a passing score on the NASCLA accredited examination for commercial building contractors in place of the general building trade exam. The applicant must still pass the Nevada CMS business and law exam and meet the experience, financial, and bond requirements.
