Dividing 190 minutes by 150 test-proper items gives a planning average of about 76 seconds per item. That is our arithmetic, not an official per-question limit. Reading passages and data sets will take longer; short vocabulary or basic-operation items may take less. The useful target is an overall pace, not exactly 76 seconds on every question.
Also distinguish a general rating of 80.00 from “120 correct answers.” The current CSC documents publish the rating threshold but not a raw-to-rating conversion. Aim well above the minimum in practice, but do not present a raw number as the official passing rule.

This table gives you the right checklist but not a license to predict “50 verbal, 40 numerical,” or any other fixed breakdown. Some reviewer pages publish exact subject totals without linking them to a CSC table. Others add topics such as current events to the official scope. Current events may be useful general reading, but the August 2026 CSC scope names the four General Information areas above; a prep suggestion should not be mislabeled as an official category.

Choose Professional if the vacancy you are targeting requires Career Service Professional Eligibility or another appropriate second-level eligibility. Passing does not guarantee appointment. The CSC announcement says an eligible must still meet the position's other qualifications and requirements.
You also do not need to prove a bachelor's degree merely to sit the Professional Level under the published 2026 admission requirements. The confusion comes from job qualification standards: many second-level technical vacancies require a degree, but that employment requirement is separate from admission to the exam. Start with the vacancy's official qualification standard, then determine whether the CSE-PPT is the missing gate.
Some candidates may already hold a comparable eligibility. A practical first-pass rule is to answer items with a clear method, mark time-consuming items in the booklet if permitted by the proctor's instructions, and return without leaving accidental blanks. Final 48 hours for August 9 examinees
The current CSC examinee advisory is more important now than another mock. It says to be at the testing venue no later than 6:30 a.m., or as directed by the regional or field office, and that gates close at exactly 7:45 a.m. The Professional test proper is scheduled from 8:00 a.m. to 11:10 a.m., with roughly an hour before and after for required activities and documentation.
Run this checklist:
- Verify your school assignment through the official CSC route and contact the relevant office if it is unresolved.
- If feasible, visit the venue and route the day before; CSC specifically warns against relying only on GPS.
- Bring an accepted original ID. A photocopy or phone photo is not accepted. If the ID lacks a birth date, bring the required original birth certificate.
- Bring black ballpens. Pencils, gel pens, sign pens, fountain pens, friction pens, and other ballpen colors are not allowed.
