A semantically plausible word with the wrong suffix is not correct.
For Daily Life texts, identify the document type and the reader's likely purpose. A notice, schedule, message thread, form, advertisement, or menu organizes information differently. Read labels, dates, headings, and footnotes as part of the text. Then translate the question into a retrieval goal such as “latest eligible time” or “reason for the change.”
For an Academic Passage, read the approximately 200-word text fully and label its main claim and paragraph functions. The five questions reward relationships and evidence, so retain the structure rather than a list of isolated facts.
Use a three-level evidence check
When evaluating an answer, ask:
- Local evidence: which words or sentence support it?
- Relationship: is the idea a cause, example, contrast, condition, or result?
- Scope: does the answer preserve qualifiers and limits?
This catches common distractors. A choice may quote the passage but assign a cause to the wrong outcome. It may turn a possible result into a certain one, or generalize from one example to an entire category. Repeated vocabulary is not enough; the proposition must match.

A mixed-set rehearsal
Run a short drill that switches among all three families: one Complete the Words text, two contrasting Daily Life documents, and one Academic Passage.
