This is pure visual proofreading under time pressure. It maps directly to clinical safety habits: matching a patient ID, drug name, lab code, or chart label without “correcting” what you expect to see.

Item Formats You Will Meet

  1. Symbol / alphanumeric strings — stem code; four options, one exact match, three with single-character edits.
  2. Multi-row codes — small matrices of symbols; identity requires every cell equal.
  3. Figure descriptions / simplified drawings — same geometry and marks; distractors alter one mark count, one diagonal, or one open vs closed end.
  4. Pair comparison — “which pair is identical?” among pairs that each look similar.
