Resins and activators are formulated as matched pairs; mixing brands produces cloudy cure, poor adhesion, or an exothermic reaction. Repairs: Stress Strips and Patches

  • A stress strip is a narrow band, roughly 1/8 inch (3 mm) wide, laid across the stress area of a nail to reinforce it before it cracks. Use it prophylactically on a client who repeatedly breaks in the same place.
