Can You Take the NICET ITWBS Exam?

Education
No formal degree prerequisite is listed for ITWBS certification.
Experience
Level I requires 6 months of involvement with water-based system inspection, testing, repair, or maintenance activities. Level II requires 2 years of work experience, including at least 1 year of direct inspection and periodic testing of existing water-based fire protection systems. Level III requires 5 years of work experience, including at least 3 years of direct inspection and periodic testing of existing water-based fire protection systems.
Additional Requirements
  • All levels require exam passage and verified performance measures.
  • Level II requires meeting Level I and II requirements even if prior certification was not held.
  • Level III requires meeting Level I, II, and III requirements and a personal recommendation.
  • Certification must be recertified every 3 years through CPD.
