What Is an RCDD?

The Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) is BICSI's flagship credential for information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure design. BICSI — the Building Industry Consulting Service International — is the standards-development and credentialing body for the ICT distribution design industry. An RCDD is a design professional qualified to plan, specify, and administer the distribution systems that carry voice, data, video, and other low-voltage signals through a building or campus: structured cabling, telecommunications spaces, pathways, backbone and horizontal distribution, bonding/grounding, and the coordination those systems require with architects, electrical engineers, and mechanical engineers.
